My name is Angie Duplaga and I am from St. Clairsville, Ohio. I am currently working at East Richland Friends Church with the Higher Ground Youth Ministry. I work primarily with teen females, but I also help out the youth pastor with the entire group in any way that I can. In addition, I am a special education teacher for the Educational Service Center. I enjoy teaching and sharing Jesus' love with children and teenagers.

In the summer after my junior year of college, I went and spent a month with the Simon's in Brazil. Instantly, my heart fell in love with the people and the culture. I was moved by the missionaries and their desire to serve the Lord and give up the American lifestyle that can often be so comfortable. I then returned this past August of 2010 to stay with the Simon's again for two weeks and was accompanied by my mentor and her daughter. When I left this time, God began tugging on my heart to return. I remember sitting in my hammock, in the middle of the Xingu, asking God to make it clear to me if this is what He was calling me to do. Well through prayer, scripture, peace in my heart, and a strong desire to serve in Brazil, the Lord has confirmed this calling. He has used Isaiah 61:1-3 and Luke 4:18 over and over again to continue to confirm this calling. I plan on moving to Brazil when the Simon's return from their furlough in late August of 2011. I look forward to sharing the gospel with young women, children, and adults in Altamira and along the villages of the Xingu River!
