The goal of the wheelchair project is to help children with disabilities obtain a wheelchair, walkers, or medical supplies.
With the direct efforts of the Matt Dolan Service Fund we have already helped many families.
The World Health Organization states that over 25 million people around the world are immobile and without money to buy a wheelchair. Wheelchairs are very expensive; in fact; the cost of one here in Brazil is about 4 months salary which is so much money for the families of disabled children. They want to be able to provide for their child but when you are you are living hand to mouth, a wheelchair becomes unrealistic. So the Xingu Mission / CDR is helping bridge that gap and making what seems so unrealistic, a reality.
To date we have distribution 34 wheelchairs, 11 walkers, 3 baby carriages, a house and various medical supplies and procedures, plus each family receive a free bible.
